What has this series shown us? What are the takeaways IRL? Or is it just another hype-builder? Join me as we watch and assess the season finale.
It has a fifty-four minute total run time, which should be plenty of time to complete the [Kafka-esque] metamorphosis of Cassian 'Kassa' Andor.
His childhood brought him and his fellow child tribe in contact with the Empire and his foster parents, and his mother died today (or yesterday).
Cameos and Camus apart, the production values and acting have been at par with Star Wars fare, like Boba Fett and Bad Batch, but not Mando.
So, before we begin in earnest, here's my omnibus of reviews for Andor:
Andor Episode 1 [Kassa] and Episode 2 [That Would Be Me] Review
Episode 3 [Reckoning] and Episode 4 [Aldhani] of Andor by Star Wars
The fifth episode: The Axe Forgets, and the spectacular sixth: The Eye.
The seventh was simply titled Announcement: of the Rebellion, that is.
The eighth instalment focused on Andor's imprisonment: Nobody's Listening, shouted out by our titular hero himself in his prison cell.
The ninth was Nobody's LIstening - and what a true epiphany that is lol.
Next up, the tenth episode was the One Way Out uprising of Narkina 5.
And finally, the penultimate mother-death: Daughter of Ferrix, S1 E 11.
On with the show! The recap beckons us, and hopefully it'll be swift...
Cassian's mother is a staunch supporter of the Rebellion, so she won't leave Ferrix under any circumstances, even when Andor is now rich!
Below will be my full commentary...will edit and stitch and upload soon!

Lightning quick recap - heist-manifesto; Mon Mothma in money trouble - mo' money mo' problems - but this is for a good cause; Vel the leader is cousin to Mon from Chandri-La, the land of the moon's high passes; ISB is closing in on Andor via his home planet; he'll go to his mom's funeral.
In the opening scenes, we have two bombs brewing - Dedra Meero the villain has come to Ferrix for the funeral, and a literal bomb is building.
BOOM! No, none of the bombs have gone off yet, but wait, there's more!
On the capital planet Coruscant, Mon Mothma's driver is spying on her. Her husband's gambling is undermining her political reputation. Hmm..
Her cousin Vel, who I just mentioned, has also come to Ferrix, where Cassian's sister [who he was looking for in the very first scene of the series, when he was bullied by the two security guys he killed, which started off this whole manhunt] is keeping lookout. They are a couple.
Andor drops into his home town because he knows all the back alleys. What he didn't expect was a couple of guard dog-aliens on chains in the back of Pegla's workshop. Pegla, by the way, sounds very close to mad in Hindi. I've written more instances of Star Wars names sounding Indian.
There is a long monologue from the manifesto I mentioned in the recap.
The villain wants the hero "taken" "alive." One word's a nice blockbuster action movie franchise; the other is about a football team that crashes in the Andes and is forced to resort to cannibalism to look for rescue.
Dedra Meero is dissatisfied with how the ISB handled a rebellion takedown - by killing everyone. Luth(i)en, played by Thor's Doctor Selvig, has sacrificed that rebellion partner so that Saw Gerrera lives.
Good old friends help us get over our regrets, especially about family.
And on the other hand, there are always those ready to exact revenge!
The bomb-maker joins in the crowd as the bum-bum-drummer starts leading the funeral band before time. This catches the Empire off-guard.
They make a show of force with stormtroopers. The calm 'fore the storm.
All the major characters are in one place. Time for the final countdown!!!
Stone and sky! This chanting by the town is followed by a hologram projected by B2EMO - a name which encourages us all to be a little emo. The holy hologram mother Andor lifts the people with a rousing speech.
Andor makes it to Bix who had got him in touch with Luth(i)en the Rebel.
BOOM! A well-directed throw by the bomber sets off a chain reaction.
Lots of action happens, many bad guys kill good people, but the good will win, of course. The real surprise is that Syril the Stalker saves Dedra.
The rebel leaders of Ferrix - Jazz, Brasso, Bix, B2EMO, and the Bomber - get on a ship and are sent on their way by Cassian Andor & Pagal Pegla.
The Mothma family meets the Sculdun family. Sergeant Mosk drowns out his sorrows into the bottom of a hip flask. Luthen is surprised on his ship by Andor, who knows he came to Ferrix to kill him. They join forces.
So that, my fellow Star Warriors, is the end of the first season of Andor.

Post-credits scene! The Death Star is nearing completion, and the parts that Andor and his fellow labour camp workers were making are getting fitted into the crater that fires planet-destroying beams from it! Boom!
