Hello my fellow football fanatics and a very very happy new year to all of you
this is the face of a disgruntled man u fan - and i have been a fan since 1997
What this team needs is a serious butt kicking from sir alex ferguson, seriously
A 40 year old record has been broken - back to the year i was born, 1985-1986
Since those years, we had never lost consecutive year-end games - but we did
Anyway, like i always say about the beautiful game, the past is history, the future is a mystery
No wonder we deserve to be even lower than 14th in the league, almost in relegation
newcastle scored twice from crosses, same old pattern and newcastle are flying high
players running away from the ball - the slightest pressure and they pass backwards
no placement off the ball - they just hang around and let the opponents come at them
back passes preferred; letting newcastle stream forward; Always letting them threaten goal
This is not the manager’s problem - The players are way too comfortable when they are playing
Passing backwards from the corner of newcastle's penalty box to behind the half line - what???
Hanging so far back in our own half that newcastle defenders are pinballing around the half line
No man marking, no counter attacking, just trying one-twos and then passing to people behind
Long balls down the line - so close to the touchlines that no wonder most of them bounce out
No defense, no attack, no midfield, no goalie - they are all just a bunch of overpriced fit people
The younger ones show some attacking intent and look for quick one-twos, but barely receive
Now it is painfully apparent that set pieces are not the only problem - it is the team’s mentality
hojlund came so close, but that would still leave us a goal adrift of an equalizer - imagine that
Casemiro also could not get a shot on target, an easy one - but pressure is getting to them all
And this is just my ranting till half time; i just take comfort in the fact that it can only get better
Also, i empathize with and draw strength from stephen fry supporting norwich city all his life
Michael owen is right during the halftime analysis - manchester united are unbelievably bad
Phil jones is probably looking back at his time with the team and rightly feeling over the moon
Second half starts off seemingly better, but once again i see players pointing backwards often
I am also somewhat surprised at zero substitutions at halftime, but Amorim is showing faith…
Much better from united as we cross the hour mark, but there is still a long long long way to go
If you are a fellow football fanatic, you know we try all sorts of superstitious voodoo shenanigans
But these days instead of wishing for wins, it’s more like “i hope they don’t let in another goal”
I think that win over a badly off-colour man city gave us overconfidence, and overdependence
Amad and perfect penalty picker bruno got us that win; it was not through any sheer team effort
Maguire passed it straight to ruben amorim, who has left his playing days behind, after ronaldo
Speaking of ronaldo, enjoy watching my manchester united highlights dating back to his days
And i hope once again that sir alex ferguson joins ruben amorim in the dressing room for a bit
And that 2025 is a fantastic year for all of you, my fellow football fanatics! Thanks for watching
Tell me what you think manchester United should do in the january transfer window, glory glory!
And before you go - here is a bit of trivia that spiraled into my life last night on new year’s eve -
