First of all, my heartfelt and highly personal salute to our armed forces.
Next, the animals that were in harm's way (leopard [sic] & pigeons) were CGI. Finally, before this review, due thanks to the Ministry of Defence, the Indian Army (as a part of which my dad was KIA in OP PAWAN - look it up on Wiki), and the Indian Air Force, who let us lead our lovely lives.
Historical footage serves as the backdrop for a brief history lesson about the conversion of East Pakistan into Bangladesh in 1971.
Pakistan attacked the Bhuj air base without provocation & destroyed it.
I must say that the CGI of the fighter planes and dogfights is quite good.
But the way Ajay Devgn (without the 'a' or 'u') kills Pakistani spies sucks.
This includes him ripping off a gun from his wannabe shooter with a ripped off move which Jackie Chan taught Chris Tucker in Rush Hour.
The supporting bravado by Sanjay Dutt as (eventual) centenarian spy Ranchor Pagi and Sharad Kelkar as RK Nair is not quite as over-the-top - pun fully intended for this movie that released on Disney Plus Hotstar.
Wiki says that Pagi reached the Lord of the Rings age of eleventy-one.
Nora Fatehi's character does excellently as a spy, earning martyrdom.
Ammy Virk is going to be a great actor like me, I feel it like in my bones.
Sonakshi Sinha kills the CGI leopard & rises full power to the occasion.
We know that history is on our side but the tale is told well & the movie is well worth a watch, especially to highlight honor, courage & sacrifice.
Suspension of disbelief is pushed to the limits, but in a good way. Adios!
