Episode 3 review is here. Episode 2 review is here. And Ep 1 review here.
Khofar's so far, but faster-than-light hyperspace travel will get you there.
Hello my fellow Star Warriors and welcome to my spoiler-filled review of Episode 4 of The Acolyte, the latest addition to the Star Wars Universe!
In case you missed it, Khofar is the forest planet on which lives Wookie Jedi Master Khelnacca, and he has been practicing aboriginal Dreaming.
I have always been fascinated with Uluru, which is the largest free-standing rock on Earth. I wanted to go there but like Red Hot Chili Peppers sang, "...nothing ever goes according to plan..." How true.
Anyway, you can check out more of my unplanned videos and if you like, smash the sub button for awesomax fun as we continue this review!
So, why do I say that Khelnacca is practicing the Dreaming, and what does it have to do with Uluru? The reason is the magical dot pattern on the forehead of our heroine's twin sister, the titular Acolyte, like Harry Potter's scar. Their origin story was shown in slow detail in Episode 3.
Exploiting family ties is quite common in Star Wars. In fact, I think it is the mainstay of most major storylines, along with the capable outsider.
The Skywalker saga is the prime example, or the holotype, of this point. A holotype is not to be confused with the hologram, which is also Star Wars tech ever since Princess Leia recorded her message in R2-D2!
The Mandalorian and Ahsoka are examples of the second point. Solo warriors pursuing agendas, once again not to be confused with Mr Han Solo, who always runs heists with company, so he's technically NOT solo.
Another Jedi quote I like, this time courtesy Jecki: "We are not defined by what we lost. We are defined by what we survive." Truthat, sister! :)
After this part, there are a couple of events in the story that I believe were orchestrated just to speed up the pace, and I agree with that. What happens is that Mae gets rid of her friend Qimir by getting him trapped in the usual hanging upside down rope, and Khelnacca is found dead.
Just like that, the main antagonist of the Dark side appears behind Osha, and easily blows away the Jedi team, quite literally, like dust.
Obviously, it's Qimir.
Now, we will have to wait another week till next Wednesday to see what happens next in this twin saga, so stay tuned and may the Force be with you! Watch my other Star Wars videos and smash that sub button for awesomax fun! Thank you for watching, take care, stay safe, and bye! :)
