The Acolyte Episode 3 Destiny Review Axat

Read / watch my reviews of Star Wars The Acolyte Episode 1 and 2 here.

Hello, my fellow Star Warriors and may the Force be with you! Episode 3 is here and it is named Destiny, much like the Destiny spacecraft which will study comet dust, and which is planned for 2025 by Japan's JAXA.

For more on space exploration in real life, not reel life, watch my playlist about NASA, SpaceX, ISRO, and other cool people taking us ad astra! To the stars is what that means, as I'm sure most Star Warriors will know. :)

This episode has a runtime of 42 minutes, which is the Answer to the Ultimate Question of Life, the Universe, and Everything, by D Adams. I love the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, and if you do too, watch my playlist not just about h2g2 but also about Project Bibliotherapy, thanks!

Right at the start, it's flashback time! Oxymorons and puns aside, there is a familiar feeling about the past, which is why if we do not learn from it, we are doomed to repeat it: one of the good Jedi quotes in this show.

Throughout the episode, there is zero action. This was bound to happen.

Nevertheless, we do get to see Carrie Anne-Moss again after her brief appearance in the setup episode. Since the whole episode is a flashback, we gotta wait till next week for progress.

But let me take this slow speed to answer the Q: what is an acolyte?

Simply put, they are assistant to the priests in religious ceremonies.

And Star Wars has portrayed witches before, most recently in Ahsoka.

So we do see witches on this episode, and know, our heroine is one too.

Well, technically, she kind of just missed out on becoming a full witch even after she said "I do" after her twin sister, the acolyte, "ascended."

But that's all just a ruondabout way of showing us that Osha and Mae are on opposite sides of the Star Wars universe, the light and the dark, right from the beginning. Fear of the Dark: a great song by Iron Maiden.

But in the end, to quote Linkin Park's best song, it doesn't even matter.

Still, I like science fiction in all its forms because it inspires imagination.

That is essential for future generations like Adwitya to propel humanity.

Ok, so that's it for this rather boring episode of The Acolyte, see you next Wednesday and may the Force be with you! Thanks for watching! :)
