In Part One of The Martium Chronicles [An Android Awoke, also available on stck.me], our heroine, Selina [the first Mooninite solo Mars pilot] encounters the first self-aware android, Lex-42. Parallelly, her friend discovers a new element [Martium] on Mars which is has interesting potential for interplanetary travel. The stories converge in a political potboiler-ish way, along with a commentary on our future.
