Hi! I am Axat, and I love ad breaks. Not only do I get to see what kind of marketing is going on currently, I am also made self-aware of my demographic classification in the pyramid of cons-humans.
At the start of this episode, rebel heroes are forced to go on the run from the tyranny of the empire and the inequities of power-hungry imperials. I love pulp fiction. It's right up there on my wall. There's a wedding in it. Oh, sorry, I was thinking about Kill Bill. But there IS a wedding in this episode, and the groom cuts off the bride's braid. Adwitya got three braids cut by the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board-appointed barber while we were making the pilgrimage up Trikuta mountain.
At the wedding, there's an emcee. e m c e e. That's what the subtitles say, and I'm grateful that they made that clear. c l e a r. That's the kind of spelling Adwitya will be able to relate to, soon. She is already copying our words, making decisions on her own and informing us about them. I am glad we live in a time when I have her whole life digitized, available at the tap of a screen. Maybe Star Wars is not so far ahead in the future!
Holograms will be next. I feel that the scenes on Coruscant between Dedra the Stern, Syril the Meek, and Eedy the Odious are blurry at the edges. Is it some sort of pre-emptive checking of audiences' reaction to floaty visuals? Will live holograms become commonplace in our lives? ;)
Just food for thought. Next up is the repatriation of stolen artifacts. I have pointed it out in my earlier reviews that Chandra means moon in Hindi, and Chandi means silver, from the same root. A wedding gift has been given the name Chandi Merle, and it's another clever example of bowwowing names from foreign languages in the English Star Wars.
I like the smallcase ads on JioStar in India. It is true - our kids can teach us quite a lot. Adwitya is teaching me stuff everyday. Anyway, on goes the wedding and the when-is-Andor landing to rescue Bix story.
The villain of this episode uses the word "nuance" which reminds me of one of Adwitya's favorite movies when she was littler. It is Tangled, from Disney, a take on the Rapunzel fairy tale. She especially likes the frog. It is a chameleon, but that's the nuance. Similar things are not at all alike.
A rapist is killed by the intended victim and that seems totally fair to me.
There's a raging rave going on under a floating spherical speaker globe.
A good guy is gunned down by stormtroopers and imperial soldiers.
I sit through the 4 minutes and 20 seconds of credits to finish this.
