Refer to my previous post - is LinkedIn targeting Marvel fans to hunt for jobs because they're unemployed? ;)
Excelsior, fellow Marvelers! I am Axat, and welcome to my review of the second episode of the second season of Daredevil, under-titled Born Again. In the first episode, SPOILER ALERT, Foggy Nelson died.
Kingpin is born again into the mayor of New York City, as in the comics.
There are some nice quotes from the first episode's dialogue in my review, so watch it if you haven't already and are jumping straight into my mind's labyrinth with this video. Without further ado, let us jump in!
Te episode is in loving memory of Kamar de los Reyes, who died in 2023.
Mayor Fisk derides The Punisher, Spider-Man, and Daredevil in his New Year address to New York City. By the way, the animated Spider-Man series is quite watchable, with a Daredevil cameo by Charlie Cox.
In this episode, we see a new vigilante, played by the dearly departed Reyes, and named White Tiger, who has caused the death of an NYPD officer, and is incarcerated in Riker's Island as a result, facing severe punishment, both by the law, and by "officers and inmates alike." Wow.
After Kingpin blackmails Commissioner Gallo - who is also the same in the Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man cartoon - and some legal speak, Matt Murdock gets into Daredevil mode again, but without the red suit.
All in all, this episode had nearly nil action, except for the subway fist fight that set the plot in motion. Looking forward to the next episode, which moght see The Punisher making a cameo - or not! Excelsior!
