Excelsior, my fellow Marvelers! Welcome to my reviews of the MCU!
In the previous episodes, Agatha put together her motley crew or coven of witches - a Divination witch, a Potions witch, a Protection witch, and a Green witch. They will be joined by Aubrey Plaza sooner than later. :)
Two revelations as soon as we step into the episode and On Down The Road - there is a sigil, or obstruction of knowledge spell, on the Teen. He is the one who set Agatha on her road to recovery of powers, so that's something. Second, when the Hobbit and the Dwarves were going through Mirkwood, they were also told by Gandalf not to stray from the path. I love identifying Lord of the Rings references in all sorts of media.
Watch my thoughts about the Rings of Power and the Lord of the Rings and Middle-Earth and the Tolkienverse by watching my videos about it!
As with the episode titles, there is a rhyme schema to the Road - and the Protection witch's mom wrote it, so we are going to see them follow that.
And there we have it, Marvelous ladies and gentlemen, we are spoofing Big Little Lies, by coating it with sugar and calling it Huge Tiny Lies. I have not seen this show, but I'm curious to carry on the Wandavision subterfuge and adapt all sorts of genres into this witches' brewing pot.
Pretty big hints are dropped about Teen being the son of Agatha - that DOES have a ring to it - but I think it will be a red herring, or surprise!
Also they are pretty insistent not to refer to Debra Jo Rupp's Green witch character as Sharon which is her self-believed name, at all. That's weird.
"Try to save Agatha." Forecast coming from the Divination witch right there, just like Harry Potter's Divination teacher, Professor Trelawney.
Every witch for themselves as they are all matched up to their fears!
Of course they will all get through and beyond their respective and respected fears, because of course we all have ours - mine is sharks.
The next new one I now have is begin forced to be an eusocial insect!
But pedantic scientificism aside, it's a quick resolution and we move on to the last part of the episode, or the third act, in pedantic theatricity, lol.
A very nice punch at modern children is their inability to read an analog clock or watch, which is why Teen 'does not compute' counterclockwise.
Speaking of clocks, did I mention that this was an escape room episode?
The witches down shots of the antidote at just the right time, which is obviously when the countdown timer hits the zero seconds mark, and voila, they get their escape route via a kitchen oven. Sure, that works!
Also, I must admit right now that I slip up between letters when I type, so I don't know what might happen in the future within my mind brain.
That is why I live by my existentialist philosophy of 6hourism, so check out my books A Life Afloat and An Android Awoke for more about that! :)
And finally, we hear them all say Sharon, which is when the non-witch ends up dead. A little surprising, sure, and sets up the next episode too.
Looking forward to seeing Aubrey Plaza join the coven in the future, and till then, watch my other MCU reviews for awesomax fun! Adios & Ciao!
