Bazinga! Here we are at the end of a very nice, feel-good series, folks!
I must say that I enjoyed the escapades of Old Sheldon and the Big Bang gang more than the shenanigans of the Cooper family deep in the heart of small town Texas. Nevertheless, the series did a great job of playing up the nostalgia of Sheldon Cooper's anecdotal childhood, complete with the various references made in the parent series of this spinoff.
Now, before I say spoiler alert, I just want to say that if you are a fellow fan of The Big Bang Theory and Young Sheldon, make sure you smash that sub button for awesomax fun and check out my other videos, thnx!
So, Sheldon's dad is dead, no surprises there. It was a long time coming. I do miss my dad even though I never really "knew" him since he was killed in action in Sri Lanka way back in 1987 when I was just two.
I guess it is easier to empathize with fictional characters when you have even the slightest bit of commonality with them, no matter how tenuous.
Anyway, the family deals with the tragedy in the way sitcom families do.
Speaking of sitcoms, I started wiki-walking about Hereditary after seeing it in my Amazon Prime suggestions. My wiki-walking got me to Keith Carradine by way of Martha Plimpton, by way of Ann Dowd, with a couple of movies including Lorenzo's Oil in between. It was sort of Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon, and just for fun, Ann Dowd is 1 for the movie Taking Chance, while Martha Plimpton is 2, and Keith Carradine is also 2. AND he is the actor who played Penny's dad in The Big Bang Theory.
I wonder why they never gave Penny a surname or last name in TBBT.
If you have any idea or conspiracy theory about that share in comments!
Finally, let me mention the finale. I expected a cameo from Jim Parsons, but I was surprised at how long he and Mayim Bialik appeared in the show, but then again, it is the series finale, and I guess it worked.
So, good to see Jim Parsons as Sheldon again, and live long and prosper!
